Leadership Team
Everyone plays a role in helping us to realise our plans, but strong leadership is critical. We operate in a very competitive market place and have great challenges to meet. The Leadership team, who will be taking the company through this exciting time, is set out below.
Dermot Blastland - Managing Director
Dermot is Mainstream UK & Ireland's Managing
Director and a member of the Group
Management Board (GMB). Previously Dermot
was MD for First Choice’s Mainstream Holidays
Sector and member of First Choice PLC’s main
board, having previously held positions as
Managing Director of First Choice Holidays &
Flights, Ski, Lakes & Mountains and President
of Signature Vacations. Prior to joining First
Choice in February 1988, he was Commercial
Director at Thomson and subsequently
Managing Director of Portland Holidays.
Chris Browne - Airline
Chris Browne will take the leading role in
integrating the two airlines, achieving a single
Air Operating Certifi cate (AOC) for the
combined airline, working closely with the Civil
Aviation Authority (CAA). Her team will also
deliver operational and financial network and
fleet synergy benefits, while maintaining the
safe and secure operation of both airlines.
David Burling - Commercial
Core to the successful operation of the business is effective product creation, purchasing, pricing, commercial management and revenue generation. This area continues to be the key trading and revenue area of the business and falls under David’s responsibility.
Graham Donoghue - New Media
Graham Donoghue will head up New Media,
which involves the ongoing development of our
web platforms and online distribution activities.
Tim Williamson - Customer
Tim has responsibility for the brand and marketing of our products, but in addition the Overseas and Customer Services areas report into him. He has responsibility for determining the service proposition across all areas of the business to ensure that we deal with all our customers in a consistent manner wherever the business may touch them and that we are truly putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.
Nick Longman - Distribution
Nick is responsible for managing our distribution channels of shops, hypermarkets, call centres, the Web and 3rd party travel agents. Nick is accountable for our distribution strategy, developing seasonal distribution plans, and is the ‘owner’ of the selling systems.
Damien Mooney - Ireland Falcon / JWT
Managing Director, Damien
Mooney continues to report directly to Dermot
managing our Irish business’ on a day-to-day
basis and leading any integration activities in
the Irish market.
Neil Morris - Planning
Neil’s team will work closely with tour operations,
our airline and all distribution channels, planning
for seasonal as well as long-term capacity and
leading the long-term planning process. Key
strategic issues, like market opportunities and
competitor analysis, will also fall within his remit.
Keith Newman - IT
Keith and his team will drive the integration of
systems between the two merged businesses,
looking at synergies as well as ensuring long-
term plans are aligned and fully focused on
supporting business requirements.
Jacky Simmonds - HR
Jacky’s team will support the integration of our
two businesses helping to create the structure
of Mainstream UK and Ireland. The team will
look at how we best work together and shape
policies and processes to create a positive
employee relations environment and a high
performance culture.
David Taylor - Finance
David’s team will control, monitor and report the
financial and operational performance of our
division; leading and managing the budgeting
process and ensuring we drive the business to
improve performance at every opportunity to
deliver sustainable earnings growth.
